A Tooting Gathering and a Holey Jumper
We're pleased to announce that this week our 6,000th member joined! and in the next couple of weeks we will pass another significant milestone 10,000 useful things or skills on the site.
Hats off to Caroline who is organising a gathering for all Streetbank members in Tooting, South West London on Thursday at 7pm at the Wheatsheaf pub - if you are based in that direction look out for Caroline's notice and do head along!
Over Christmas Sam read a fascinating book called "The Case for Working with your Hands or Why Office Work is Bad for You" by an American academic turned motor bike mechanic, Mattew Crawford. Apart from being a brilliant charades clue it makes a good case and has inspired Sam's new years resolution to do some more practical things with his time. And that has provoked him to put out a notice on Streetbank for someone who can teach him how to patch up some favourite jumpers and how to sew on buttons. He'll let you know how he gets on.
